Folks are all time asking me how I came up with the ideas for this Crow Canyon cabin. I guess the first thing was to build an old looking cabin...the kind that comes from somewhere in the distant past, way out in the sticks with wood siding inside and out, galvanized metal roof, porch rockers, so on and so forth. Well, so much for that! I couldn't find real wood windows, at least none reasonably priced. With the exception of that one thing, the rest of it pretty much looks the part. The next first thing was to use a king-size bed and still make it look old. So many people have kings now, and anything else seems small. And then there's the issue with a cheap mattress, hard, uncomfortable things that they are! We decided to use Sealy Plush...there, solved that! Then I decided to make the bed. Couldn't find one I wanted, so I made one out of two 100+ year old doors. They came out of the old Baker Hotel in Mineral Wells, TX. Man, there's nothing like real old solid wood! Owens-Corning makes the most authentic and quality faux stone that we needed for the fireplace and shower. Had to keep it lightweight to make the "disappearing media in the fireplace". Antique doors and miscellaneous accessories came from different salvage companies . Old style iron hooks are the touch light sensor connection for most all the old lights and lamps that we adapted to electric. I reconditioned an old Quick Meal gas cook stove and put in some old sinks. Harked "old stuff " from all over to furnish the place with. This all would never have worked without the right setting. This Texas hill country area with its trees and hills, its canyons and creeks and chaparral, made it right. The pond is stocked with catfish for "catch and release" fishing. And we even have an old row boat for you romantic types. Come see for ya'self ! Thanks, Tim and Dianne Amyett 817-243-6125

Howdy! I'm Tim Amyett, and I want to personally invite you to Crow Canyon. It's the perfect location for our home and our home based cabin rental business. If you like the country, you'll LOVE it here! Some places have seasonal rates... but there's no time when this place isn't the '' best time"... from the ol' dog days of summer to the coldest days of winter. As much as I like the simple things in life, I'm afraid I'm spoiled to some of the finer things as well...such as central air and heat and insulated walls and ceilings. I like the "good ole days" style but with modern conveniences. I've tried to put things into this cabin that would make it ''too cool "... a friend of mine said that when he saw the over-sized stone shower. So many have said that I'm not charging enough. That it's way too cheap. Well, isn't that what we call value? ... when you get more than you pay for? To date we've had nothing but the best of guest. They all would make good neighbors. So y'all come on out and let's be neighbors for a while. Set back, do some fishing, do a little grilling and watch the miss'us smile. If you're looking for a little peace and quiet, relaxing Texas Hill Country scenery and a total escape from all those annoying by-products of modern living, take the little drive to GranburyCabins It's a short trip to a way of life that existed long ago.
